Responsibilities :

Daily Documentation : Accurately record a patient’s medical history and daily observations.

Physician Order Management : Transcribe physicians’ orders to MAR’s and notify pharmacy of new orders.

Medication Administration : Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician, including injections, prescribed medications, enemas, etc.

Vital Sign Monitoring : Take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, etc.

Patient Observation & Monitoring : Observe patients under treatment to identify progress, side-effects of medications, and monitor patients’ condition including fluid intake and output.

Charting : Accurately compose and maintain patient charts.

Assistance with Daily Activities : Assist ailing patients in daily necessary activities such as eating, bathing, etc.

Basic Medical Care : Clean and dress wounds and assist with other basic medical care tasks.

Sample Collection : Collect samples for lab testing as assigned.

Emotional Support : Provide emotional and psychological support when needed.

Family Communication : Communicate with patients’ family or friends to provide advice, comfort, and release instructions.

Other Duties as Assigned : Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.

Qualifications :

Active and unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License within the state of Illinois (required).

Compassionate and patient, with the ability to remain calm in a demanding environment.

Experienced in providing diverse basic care to those who need it.
