The primary responsibility of the Scale Clerk is to legally weigh and ticket customer trucks leaving the facility. The Scale Clerks also provide additional customer service duties including quoting, inputting orders, and communicating with customers and haulers. The Scale Clerks are responsible for ensuring compliant loads are accurately ticketed and may assist with ensuring loadout facilities are inspected, cleaned, and maintained to a safe standard. This role works under the direction of the Foreman and has dotted line responsibility to the Sales Manager.

Main Responsibilities :

• Accept orders from customers and enter them into JWS
• Assist with customer complaint logging and corrective actions
• Assist with maintenance and housekeeping in loadout tower and loadout tunnels
• Communicate with loader operators to ensure acceptable truck turnaround time
• Complete daily shift inspections and report as needed to Foreman or Site Manager
• Complete environmental compliance reports as requested
• Confirm correct material is loaded into truck
• Correctly ticket customers for all loads
• Ensure areas under your scope of responsibility remain in environmental compliance
• Ensure daily that all truck scales are operating properly
• Ensure operations is aware of upcoming sales demands on blended and specialty products
• Ensure site remains compliant with all MSHA, CALOSHA, and EPA standards
• Load customer trucks from bunkers or direct trucks to the proper stockpile location
• Maintain adequate cleanliness of work location
• Minimize daily voids
• Minimize overloading of trucks and remaining compliant with DOT weight restrictions
• Other duties as outlined by Site Manager and Sales Manager
