We are seeking Back End Software Engineers who are passionate about marrying data with emerging technologies. As a Capital One Software Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One.

What You'll Do :

• Partner with Sr. Product Owner(s) to develop product vision and strategy and align product vision with technology strategy
• Independently oversee the design process for an application
• Coach other engineers to develop product quality strategy including nonfunctional requirements, such as reliability, availability, and security
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of business processes and technical building blocks
• Train others in solution design patterns
• Coach internal technology communities and actively research and learn modern technologies and patterns
• Create and maintain big-picture design view of product portfolio
• Design and document solutions that meet business needs
• Conduct feasibility analysis, product comparison, capability mapping, and high level project estimations
• Apply architecture development processes to align with organization requirements
• Create requirements and architectural specifications, functionality, and integration with new and existing systems.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked. Riverwoods, IL : $175,800 - $200,700 for Lead Software Engineer

McLean, VA : $193,400 - $220,700 for Lead Software Engineer

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and / or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
