About The Position

Job Title : Seasonal Physical Therapist

Profession : Physical Therapist

Specialty : Client

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Monday - Friday

Hours per Shift : 8 hours

Experience : Minimum of one of the following : 1 year of full-time acute care specific experience, or 2 years of skilled nursing / inpatient rehab facility experience, or 2 years of acute care specific experience while working less than full-time hours in this area of practice.

License : Hold a valid permanent license as a physical therapist from the relevant state board.

Certifications : Must provide proof of 2 hours of CVA specific continuing education obtained within the recent 4 months.

Must-Have :

• Ability to perform patient evaluations using appropriate functional tests and measures.
• Capacity to assess social factors, medical stability, activity restrictions, and participation limitations to determine functional deficits.
• Ability to construct short-term goals, long-term goals, and personal / family goals for an appropriate plan of care.
• Skill in documenting securely in the electronic medical record.
• Proficiency in critical thinking related to patient evaluation and treatment planning.
• Understanding of physical agent modalities commonly used in therapy practice.
• Awareness of age-specific patient care indicators.
• Ability to identify learning needs of patients and family members.
• Team-oriented approach to assist patients and families in the therapy care system.

Description :

The Seasonal Physical Therapist is responsible for implementing physician orders for physical therapy services.

This role involves providing necessary aspects of physical therapy within an interdisciplinary environment.

The aim is to facilitate patients' return to independent and safe lifestyles.

The incumbent must utilize a growth and development knowledge base in caring for pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients.

Demonstration of knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care based on age is essential.

The Seasonal Physical Therapist should interpret and assess data reflective of each patient's status.

This includes identifying requirements relative to age-specific needs and providing required care.

The position involves physically demanding tasks, including moving equipment and patients while ensuring safety.

The therapist should demonstrate proper documentation and critical thinking in the evaluation and treatment planning process.

Understanding of the musculoskeletal, nervous, and integumentary systems is required, along with age-specific care indicators.

Additionally, the therapist should appropriately identify and address the learning needs of patients or family members.

This role requires collaboration with team members to assist patients and families at all points of entry into the acute therapy care system.
