Essential Function
Lead the design, development, and implementation of tools and software to streamline the provisioning, automation, and maintenance of OneNet hardware and services. Responsible for the design, implementation, configuration and maintenance of systems for various OneNet services provided to OneNet subscribers and OSRHE. Provide technical support through the OneNet Technical Help Desk.
Responsibilities and Duties
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or a related field or an equivalent combination of postsecondary education and related work experience is required. Candidate must possess a demonstrated technical proficiency in Unix / Linux systems design and deployment. Candidate must possess a working knowledge of the fundamentals of layer 2 / 3 networking. Candidate must have experience with provisioning and automation tools such as Puppet, Chef, Salt, Ansible, or Terraform. Demonstrated technical proficiency in common scripting languages such as Bash, Python, PHP, R, or Perl. A self-driven eagerness and capability to learn new technologies and gain additional skillsets is vital. Excellent verbal and written communication skills both technical and non-technical are required.
Preferred Qualifications
Three (3) years of experience in large Unix / Linux network environments. Experience supporting services such as DNS, email, web hosting and virtual infrastructure is preferred. Experience with containerization technologies is a plus. Knowledge of advanced networking technologies such as MPLS, BGP and next-gen firewalls is a plus. Experience with RESTful APIs is preferred. Experience with managing SQL database platforms such as MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MSSQL is preferred. Experience with using SQL, HTML, and JavaScript to design, develop, and maintain database driven applications is a plus. Experience Java, C, C++, or C# is a plus.
Supervision
The employee performs work under the supervision of the Director of Network Systems
Work Hours
Agency offices are open to the public from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. Monday through Friday. These are the normal office hours for Agency employees.
Physical Demands
Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time. Ability to operate a computer, keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Ability to use a computer screen and printed material, to communicate clearly, physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds, and to bend, stoop, and reach. Must use the proper manual handling equipment including but not limited to dollies, carts and lift team members. Duties are normally performed in an office environment with a moderate noise level.
