Responsibilities Work on a 24-bed Med / Surg Telemetry overflow unit in a hospital setting Patient ratio is 1 : 6-7 with CNA support at a 1 : 12 ratio Primary patient diagnoses require telemetry monitoring Telemetry is monitored by a tech on another unit, but RN must independently treat dysrhythmias Unit utilizes Pyxis, Epic, and SBAR systems 12-hour night shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Floating may be required to sister units within the hospital 36-hour work week and 13-week contract assignments Weekend-only position covering Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights RTO after booking is not permitted and no Christmas RTO will be approved No RTO allowed during the first week due to orientation requirements Required to work two out of three major holidays 36 hours of unit orientation provided and hospital orientation occurs in the first week Travelers may be required to float to other units based on skill set and census Team-oriented environment with support from CNAs and a diverse staff Navy blue scrubs are required Candidates must have a permanent address at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates Not open to current travel Per Diem clinicians at the same health system Travel pairs are permissible but must work in different units Requirements Active NC or compact RN license required by start date Minimum 2 years of relevant RN experience required Previous traveler experience required; first-time travelers not accepted Current BCLS certification required Proficiency in telemetry nursing and dysrhythmia treatment required Epic charting experience preferred Must pass EKG testing prior to start Two professional references from recent supervisors required by start Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-624618.
