GP Generate is seeking an Associate Media Director to lead integrated media strategies across a portfolio of clients. The Associate Media Director will be responsible for developing and executing innovative media campaigns, overseeing cross-channel planning and buying, and ensuring alignment with client objectives. This role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in digital and traditional channels, strong analytical skills, exceptional client services, strong communication and presentation skills, and proven leadership experience. This is a full-time, hybrid role that will require you to work from our Mar Vista office (90066) two to three days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee the strategy, planning, and execution of cross-channel media campaigns that align with client objectives.
- Manage end-to-end campaign execution, including media planning, trafficking, optimization, and reporting.
- Analyze campaign performance, identify key insights, and implement optimizations for continuous improvement across all channels.
- Maintain communication with internal planning team and media partners to ensure campaigns are executed according to agreed parameters, delivered on time, on budget, and with exceptional quality.
Client & Partner Management
Serve as a key day-to-day contact for clients, demonstrating ability to develop a positive working relationship while able to provide strategic thinking, strong communication, and deep understanding of their business goals, media needs, and brand positioning.Act as a trusted advisor by providing proactive guidance and thought leadership, educating clients on emerging media trends, platform innovations, and how these can be applied to business goals.Collaborate with analytics teams to create performance reports and deliver clear, data-driven presentations showing an ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that reinforce strategic value.Lead regular client meetings, providing strategic guidance and actionable recommendations to drive business growth.Manage external partner relationships, agreements, scopes of work, and ensure vendor performance aligns with strategic goals and budgets.Mentor and lead a team of media planners, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability while providing ongoing feedback, skill development, and clear paths for career progression that build confidence and ownership.Foster a supportive, inclusive team environment grounded in psychological safety, accountability, and resilience.Set the quality bar for work delivered by the team—reviewing output for strategic alignment, attention to detail, and innovation before it reaches the Media Director and clients.Provide guidance on best practices and processes to ensure flawless campaign execution while defining and upholding clear workflows, roles, and expectations across media planning, buying, and reporting functions.Manage bandwidth and assignments across accounts and projects, making smart, forward-looking decisions to balance workloads and prevent burnout.Partner with internal teams across creative, analytics, and account management to deliver integrated solutions.Innovation & Thought Leadership
Stay ahead of media trends, emerging platforms, and innovations in the advertising landscape.Identify and evaluate new opportunities, technologies, and creative approaches to enhance client campaigns.Inspire the team to challenge norms, ask strategic “what if” questions, and push beyond the expected in how media can engage audiences and influence behavior.Support new business pitches by developing media strategies and presenting strategic recommendations.Requirements
Experience : Minimum 6 years of experience in media planning and buying, with a proven track record in integrated media (digital, social, video, audio, print, etc.).Analytical & Strategic Skills : Proficiency in budget management, KPI forecasting, reporting, and optimization.Client Leadership : Strong ability to build and maintain client relationships, provide strategic insights, and drive measurable results.Team Leadership : Proven ability to lead and inspire cross-functional media teams with strategic clarity, operational rigor, and a commitment to team growth and excellence.Communication : Excellent presentation, writing, and interpersonal skills.Education : Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business, or a related field.What Success Looks Like in This Role

Salary Range : $90,000-$110,000 (DOE)
