Overview
Property Field Risk Consultant - HPR - Survey's at Aon. This role supports Aon's Property Risk Consulting group by evaluating property risks related to fire, earthquake, flood, and other natural catastrophes, and by making recommendations to reduce the Total Cost of Risk (TCOR) for a client's property portfolio. Location options include Atlanta and Florida. Work style : Virtual - Work from home.
What The Day Will Look Like
- Perform property risk control / underwriting surveys for various clients in different industries.
- Witness hydrant and fire pump flow tests, sketch sprinkler systems, and record hydraulic sprinkler data.
- Survey client facilities for fire, smoke, and other property loss potential. Develop loss expectancies and recommendations (MFL, PML & NLE).
- Advise clients on ways to control hazards to reduce or prevent losses. Influence clients to implement recommendations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to global manufacturing plants, warehouses, R&D centers, and offices in fire protection, fire alarm, code consulting, and general loss prevention.
- Conduct general fire protection consulting visits to client locations.
- Apply Client Standards, NFPA, FM Global or other standard methodologies to resolve technical fire protection issues.
- Review architectural and engineering plans for fire sprinkler systems, water supply, and fire alarm systems; provide review comments.
- Attend facility design and construction meetings to provide feedback on fire loss prevention and fire protection issues.
- Develop cost-effective strategies to resolve recommendations for fire loss prevention purposes.
- Investigate fire losses and prepare written reports or presentations detailing findings.
- Contribute to the annual insurance renewal. Provide cost-effective solutions or alternatives to protect buildings or processes.
- Support construction and new manufacturing projects to ensure necessary fire protection standards are met.
Skills And Experience
Experience in a consulting role with a Highly Protected Risk (HPR) Property Insurance Company.5 to 10 years of HPR engineering / consulting experience.Experience in manufacturing occupancies and related hazards.Familiar with COPE data; proficient in NFPA and / or FM Global standards; able to evaluate fire protection systems.Self-sufficient, organized, with strong written and oral communication skills.Physical fitness to climb ladders / stairs and access roof areas during surveys.Experience assessing high hazard occupancies (flammable liquids, combustible dusts).Travel more than 50 miles from the office is expected about 75% of the time.Ability to work from home.Education
B.S. Engineering and / or minimum 5 to 10 years of HPR engineering / consulting experience.Equal Opportunity

Compensation
The salary range is $100,000 to $150,000 annually, with variations based on education, experience, skills, location and internal equity. Eligible for participation in annual incentive plans.
