Vasion is seeking an Account Executive (AE) Enterprise / Commercial SLED who embodies our core values and is eager to join our dynamic team. Role Overview
The AE will help Vasion grow our SLED (State, Local, and Education) sector. Our ideal candidate will have experience in selling to state and local government as well as Higher Ed and K-12. This individual will work with assigned Sales Development Representatives (SDR) to develop a prospecting plan for our State / Local and Education patch.
Responsibilities
Drive New Business
- Prospect, qualify, and close new business opportunities within the SLED market segment (state and local government agencies, K-12 schools, and higher education institutions)
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial outreach through contract negotiation and close
- Consistently meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales quotas
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities
Customer Engagement
Conduct discovery calls to understand customer needs, challenges, and objectivesDeliver compelling product demonstrations that showcase how Vasion's solutions address specific SLED requirementsDevelop proposals and presentations tailored to each organization's unique needsNavigate complex procurement processes common in government and education sectorsBuild strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencersTerritory Management
Develop and execute strategic account plans for your assigned territoryResearch and identify high-potential prospects within the SLED marketCollaborate with marketing on campaigns and events targeting SLED customersMaintain accurate forecasts and activity tracking in CRM systemsCross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Sales Engineers and Solutions Consultants on technical discussionsWork closely with Customer Success to ensure smooth handoffs and long-term customer successCollaborate with leadership on territory planning and go-to-market strategiesShare market insights and customer feedback with product and marketing teamsRequirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience1-3 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in SaaS or technology solutionsDemonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targetsUnderstanding of consultative sales methodologies and solution-based sellingStrong communication skills with the ability to present to various stakeholdersProficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce or similar) and sales productivity toolsSelf-motivated with excellent time management and organizational skillsPrevious experience selling to government or education customersKnowledge of public sector procurement processes (RFPs, contracting, compliance requirements)Familiarity with document management, workflow automation, or enterprise software solutionsExperience with value-based selling approachesTrack record of success in quota-carrying sales rolesBenefits
