Accounts Payable Specialist

As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a crucial role in coding invoices, processing payments, and maintaining client accounts using proprietary ERP software. You will utilize Excel to document, track, and organize any discrepancies, ensuring accuracy and timely payment processing. Your attention to detail and analytical skills will be key in handling insurance carrier payables and collaborating with internal sales and accounting teams as well as external customers.

Responsibilities

• Code and process invoices, and maintain payment statuses using proprietary ERP software.
• Utilize Excel for documentation, tracking, and organization of discrepancies.
• Ensure matching and identification of discrepancies in statements with hundreds of line entries.
• Collaborate with internal sales and accounting teams and external customers to ensure accurate payment processing.
• Handle insurance carrier payables with high attention to detail.
• Identify discrepancies and communicate with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues.
• Ensure timely processing and payment of insurance carriers by matching records accurately.
• Manage electronic and check payments, and handle a high volume of statements and invoices.
• Reach out to sales floors and vendors to ensure payments are processed accurately and promptly.
• Create labels for overnight FedEx shipments and fill out forms for approval by senior management.
• Record payments against payables in the system and communicate effectively with internal and external parties.

Work Environment

This role offers a dynamic and fast-paced work environment, requiring attendance in the San Diego office three times a week for the first 90 days if local. Afterward, office presence will be reduced to once a week based on workload. For non-local candidates, office attendance will be required for half a day every other week post-training. This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $28.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
