Overview Director, Software Engineering (Digital Front-end Engineering)

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for long-range technology strategy planning for our commerce platform and integrated systems

Work with technical leaders to define and refine vision, architecture, and stack; lead efforts to make timely technical decisions

Manage policy development to address complex business issues; provide leadership to cross-functional teams

Partner with Product Development to influence what is built for business consumption

Advocate for enterprise technology initiatives in the enterprise technology backlog structure

Identify interdependencies and emerging trends across interrelated technology efforts to continuously improve products and services

Partner with Program / Project and Tech SMEs to create realistic roadmaps and set expectations with customers; stay close to the product, guide the process to ensure accurate and timely delivery

Leverage engineering, problem solving and influencing skills to ensure process and risk management solutions are technically sound

Coordinate outsourced engineering effort from teams with differing skill sets

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related fields, or equivalent work experience

Hands-on experience with React.js, Node.js, and Next.js

Experience with frontend architecture, component design for high-traffic websites (prefer e-commerce related)

AWS & Application observability

12+ years of IT and business industry work experience in managing multiple, large, cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders

Advanced technical and business knowledge in software development life cycle, quality assurance, project management and related disciplines / processes

Salary & Benefits

The pay ranges outlined below are presented in accordance with state-specific regulations. These ranges may differ in other areas and could be subject to variation based on regulatory minimum wage requirements. Actual pay rates will depend on factors such as position, location, level of experience, and applicable state or local minimum wage laws.

Salary Range : $194,600.00 - $291,900.00
