This role is designed to support financial analysis and forecasting for security products and services within the agency. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in finance or accounting and possess foundational knowledge of financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting. While a background in security technologies is helpful, the agency is open to training candidates with strong financial skills who are eager to learn about security-related products.
Key Responsibilities :
- Financial Analysis and Forecasting : Conduct detailed financial analysis and forecasting for security products and services within the agency.
- Budgeting Models : Develop and maintain budgeting models to support product and service funding requests, execution, and cost management.
- Cross-functional Collaboration : Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT security, procurement, and compliance to align financial strategies with agency goals.
- Monitor Financial Performance : Monitor and report on financial performance against approved budgets, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Procurement and Contract Support : Support procurement and contract negotiations with vendors from a financial perspective.
- Life Cycle Cost Analysis : Analyze life cycle costs and support cost-benefit evaluations for new security initiatives and technology acquisitions.
- Financial Viability Evaluation : Assist in evaluating the financial viability of new security products or enhancements.
- Reporting and Briefings : Provide clear, concise financial reports and briefings for senior leadership and oversight bodies.
- Process Improvement : Support continuous improvement of financial processes and systems related to security program funding and expenditure tracking.
Qualifications : Required :
A bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.Proficiency in financial modelling, budgeting, cost analysis, and forecasting.At least 2 years of relevant experience in financial analysis and reporting.Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a collaborative team environment.Highly Desired :
Familiarity with the State Government budgeting process.General understanding of technologies as it relates to product and cost analysis, especially within security.Experience working with financial management systems and tools (Microsoft Office, Excel).
