BD is seeking an experienced Sr. Scrum Master who is also capable of driving and coordinating large initiatives. You will lead and guide agile teams on industry best practices and frameworks including the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) while also ensuring effective delivery of business-critical objectives. The ideal candidate will have experience working with distributed teams, handling cross-functional projects / programs, and managing partner relationships at all levels.
Responsibilities :
Lead and coach multiple agile teams on scrum best practices and SAFe PI Planning
Own and drive all agile / scrum ceremonies
Actively identify and manage risks and dependencies
Foster close cooperation,self-organization and growth within the team
Act as a primary point of contact for the team for cross-functional stakeholders
Support the product manager and / or product owner in goal definition and backlog management
Advocate for continuous improvement, using metrics and data-driven insights
Simultaneously drive projects and programs in support of achieving organizational goals
Skills and Competencies :
Ability to coach team on agile practices and ensure adherence to agile methodology to deliver max business value on time
Strong communication skills with ability to effectively deliver complex messages and teach new concepts
Ability to quickly analyze and resolve conflicts – strong mediator
Confident and skilled at navigating the team through roadblocks to allow committed work to be completed within the sprint
Brings a high-energy and passionate outlook to the job and can influence those around them
Able to build a sense of trust and rapport that creates a comfortable & effective workplace
Ability to adapt to a changing environment
Ability to drive and effectively manage complex R&D initiatives beyond the scope of typical scrum master responsibilities
Required Skills / Experience :
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related IT / Technical.
5-7 years of experience in Agile software development, in a Scrum Master, Technical Program Manager, Technical Project Manager, or similar software development / technical role
Proficiency with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Rally, Azure DevOps)
Experience managing dependencies and risks in large-scale Agile environments
Strong understanding of Agile metrics (e.g., velocity, burndown charts, cycle time) and their application in team performance improvement
Preferred skills / Experience :
Scrum Master and / or SAFe certification preferred
Experience with software development for medical devices or a regulated field preferred
Familiarity with FDA regulations and compliance frameworks related to software development
Experience with Lean Portfolio Management and Agile Release Trains (ARTs)
