Your Specific Responsibilities :
This is a highly responsible and independent position within the Health Promotion (HP) Program, serving as the Healthy Communities (HC) of Florida liaison for the Florida Department of Health in St. Lucie County (DOH-St. Lucie). The role ensures completion of all activities and reporting requirements outlined in the Healthy Communities of Florida Workplan, while also supporting initiatives tied to the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) for St. Lucie County.
The primary focus is on developing and implementing community-based strategies to reduce the burden of chronic disease. This includes executing activities from both the Healthy Communities Manual and Workplan and the CHIP, with an emphasis on chronic disease prevention and health promotion.
Key areas of responsibility include advancing Policy, System, and Environmental (PSE) changes related to nutrition and physical activity in early childcare and education (ECE), school, and community settings, as well as promoting worksite wellness within DOH-St. Lucie and local businesses.
This position requires expertise in program planning and evaluation, public speaking, coalition building, and marketing / public relations.
