Job description

Our client, a Data Infrastructure and Analytics firm , is revolutionizing risk management and fraud detection within the construction and insurance ecosystem . The company's platform leverages workers compensation, general liability, and motor vehicle accident data combined with open-source intelligence (OSINT) and advanced machine-learning models to help carriers, contractors, and defense counsel identify fraudulent claims, high-risk sites, and claimant networks .

As the firm scales its partnerships with insurers, contractors, and legal teams, it is seeking a Vice President of Legal Operations to lead the buildout of a world-class legal, compliance, and claims infrastructure supporting complex litigation workflows, data partnerships, and enterprise expansion.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Strategy & Operations

  • Partner with executive leadership and defense counsel to design and execute the organizations legal operations roadmap .
  • Build scalable systems to track claims, depositions, motions, and litigation outcomes across the company's platform.
  • Develop and implement playbooks, templates, and workflows for subpoenas, risk scoring, fraud reporting, and motion practice.
  • Oversee contract lifecycle management for insurer, subcontractor, and data-provider agreements.

Claims & Litigation Support

  • Support carrier and counsel partners by translating fraud analytics and risk reports into actionable litigation strategies.
  • Standardize discovery, subpoena response, and motion drafting workflows to improve consistency and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with New York civil court procedures and insurance regulatory frameworks.

    • Compliance & Risk Management

  • Maintain adherence to state and federal data privacy laws (HIPAA, NY DFS, GDPR, as applicable).
  • Oversee compliance frameworks related to workers compensation, general liability, and subcontractor insurance .
  • Anticipate and mitigate regulatory and litigation risks associated with data ingestion, analytics, and claims processing.

    • Team Leadership

  • Build and lead the internal legal operations team , emphasizing scalability and cost optimization.
  • Manage outside counsel relationships and vendor partnerships, negotiating favorable terms and ensuring value.
  • Establish and track KPIs to measure legal team effectiveness and report results to internal and external stakeholders.
