Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY :
Assists Cardiologist in performing Diagnostic and interventional procedures; Performs quality control procedures as required by the manufacture;
Evaluates all orders, verifies them with cardiologist and ensures proper lab results and history for contraindications if applicable.
Familiarized with various interventional equipment and wires to assist the cardiologist. Responsible for interacting with hospital staff and / or nursing departments regarding patient care, concerns, and conflicts by identifying and assisting in the resolutions.
Responsible and accountable for maintaining performance skills. Routinely works weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, overtime, and / or on an on-call / call-back status, when needed.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS :
2 years prior Special Procedure and / or Radiographer experience preferred.
Membership in related professional organization preferred.
Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.
EDUCATION / LICENSURE :
Graduate from an approved school in Radiologic Technology.
Currently licensed as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) in the State of Texas.
Current ARRT Licensure (Technologists that are exempted from the ARRT certification must meet the requirement on Public Law -.)
Non-Radiologic Technologist must have active certification with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as an (RCIS) Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or (RCES) Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist.
Current certification in Interventional Angiography preferred.
Must have and maintain current BCLS certification, according to unit specific needs. Certification must be in accordance with the curriculum of the AHA, for Healthcare Provider’s Program
EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE
Interventional Angiography
- Trained in Interventional Angiography.
- Able to operate a power injector.
- Able to assist cardiologist in performing procedures to various parts of the body from head to lower extremities.
- Familiarized with contraindications for contrast.
- Able to utilize critical thinking to ensure the proper procedure is being performed.
