Job Description : The Loan Underwriting Manager I supervises a team of Underwriters. The Loan Underwriting Manager I oversees daily underwriting activities, including workflow, turnaround, productivity, escalations and quality monitoring. Location : Hybrid Mt Laurel, NJ; Charlotte, NC; or Jacksonville, FL.

Depth & Scope :

• Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any / all disciplinary actions, as required
• Supervises daily operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency of workflow and staff
• Ensures 48 hour turn time SLA is met
• Manages employees in lower complexity lanes
• Helps with the selection process, orientation, compensation decisions and performance reviews of staff members
• Demonstrates sound judgment conveying departmental policies and procedures
• Conducts staff meetings and individual one on one monthly meetings with underwriters
• Underwrites and decisions loans that are escalated by their team.
• Underwriting authority of $1.5 Million dollars
• Performs other duties as may be assigned
• Provides exceptional customer service, congruent with WOW! Philosophies to customers, vendors and other institutions
