InterDent Service Corporation provides comprehensive dental support and administrative services to over 165 dental practices across eight states, supporting more than 400 dentists. InterDent also operates Capitol Dental Care (CDC), a capitated, value-based care program serving Oregon communities. Since 1994, CDC has partnered with coordinated care organizations to deliver preventive and comprehensive dental services to children and low-income populations under the Oregon Health Plan, with a strong focus on improving both oral and systemic health outcomes.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Regional Clinical Director (RCD) to provide clinical leadership and operational support to approximately 30 Gentle Dental offices within the designated region and serve as a Dental Director (DD) for Capitol Dental. This is a high-impact leadership role central to our mission of delivering accessible, high-quality dental care.

As the RCD / DD, you will champion clinical quality, mentor and develop clinicians, and align practice performance with organizational goalswhile supporting the distinct identities and service models of both brands.

This position is based in Oregon and requires travel to Salem, OR multiple times per month

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Clinical Oversight

  • Serve as the clinical leader for all providers in the region
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance programs, clinical protocols, and best practices
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, training, mentoring, and performance management of dentists and hygienists
  • Evaluate clinical performance and ensure high standards of patient care and productivity
  • Promote efficient, high-quality, and compliant clinical operations
  • Strategic & Operational Alignment

  • Collaborate with operational leadership to drive financial growth and practice success
  • Develop and implement clinical strategies and initiatives across the region
  • Participate in RCD team meetings and workgroups to influence system-wide improvements
  • Serve as a clinical spokesperson for the assigned region
  • Organizational Support

  • Partner with the Group President on contract review, provider agreements, and vendor partnerships
  • Communicate regularly with clinical teams regarding financial, operational, and care-related matters
  • Identify opportunities for clinical improvement and guide individual provider development
  • Additional responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and strategic oversight of Capitol Dental Care's dental programs, ensuring alignment with evidence-based practices and regulatory compliance across Medicaid, Medicare, and PACE.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor clinical guidelines, quality improvement initiatives, and utilization management processes to enhance patient outcomes and optimize resource utilization.
  • Lead efforts in achieving quality performance targets, including Quality Incentive Measures (QIM), through effective collaboration with internal stakeholders, network providers, and external regulatory bodies.
  • Oversee the credentialing, peer review, and provider performance processes, ensuring clinical excellence and maintaining high standards of patient care and safety across all network providers.
  • Collaborate with operations, finance, compliance, and analytics teams to design and implement value-based care initiatives, alternative payment methodologies (APMs), and medical-dental-behavioral health integration programs.
  • Provide clinical mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities for dental leadership teams and clinical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and professional excellence.
  • Champion innovative technologies and approaches, including teledentistry, AI-driven diagnostics, and health information exchange (HIE), to improve access to care, reduce disparities, and enhance member satisfaction and engagement.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications

  • DDS or DMD degree required
  • Oregon Health Plan experience required
  • Minimum of 10 years as a practicing clinician (DSO experience preferred)
  • Proven experience in clinical leadership, team development, and performance management
  • Ability to effectively lead, coach, and inspire dental professionals
  • Education

    Preferred

  • Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry or better
  • Doctor of Dental Surgery or better
