As a Security Officer - Afternoon - Shopping Mall in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail / Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents and supporting a secure environment at a busy retail or mall location. You will conduct regular patrols throughout the property, maintain a visible presence to help prevent issues, and interact with visitors to provide outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies at the retail or mall location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, assisting as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols within the retail or mall location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Assist with emergency response activities according to Allied Universal and client guidelines.
  • Observe and report any irregularities, such as security-related breaches, fire hazards, or unauthorized persons, in accordance with Allied Universal protocols.
  • Communicate clearly with team members, management, and visitors to address security-related concerns.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter theft, vandalism, and / or other unwanted activities within the location.

  • Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
  • A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company
  • Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Must have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
