Bridge Staff Engineer

What You Will Do :

GFT is seeking a Bridge Staff Engineer to join our Practice or CBG Team in Schaumburg, IL ! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Schaumburg, IL office.

What you'll be challenged to do :

This is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced, motivated Bridge Staff Engineer to engage in structural design, rehabilitation, analysis and load rating of bridges as well as the inspection of bridges and tunnels, preparation of construction documents, specifications, and estimates. Day-to-day assignments and technical guidance will be provided by Project Managers and Senior Project Engineers.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following :

• Participating in bridge design assignments involving contract plans preparation and specifications, design calculations, calculation of quantities and development of cost estimates.
• Performing load rating analyses and preparation of load rating reports.
• Office support for construction support services.
• Performing bridge and tunnel inspections and preparation of inspection reports.
• Reviewing shop drawing submittals. Organize submittals and address questions from contractors during the construction phase of projects.
• Assist or participate in the preparation of business proposals.
