We are proud to be the oldest academic children's hospital in Minnesota and the longest-running top-ranked children's hospital in the Twin Cities metropolitan area.\n\nApply today to join our 34,000+ employees and 5,000+ system providers working to build lasting relationships with the people we serve : our patients, our communities, and each other!\n\nAbout this Unit : \n\nThe Pediatric Med / Surg Float Pool RNs are able to float to the Pediatric Med / Surg units.The critical care RNs function in the role of charge flyer in which they serve as a resource for the entire pediatric hospital, making staffing recommendations, as well as are members of all emergency response teams, including code blue, rapid response team, and trauma activation team.\n\nThis position will be working 0.75 FTE (60 hours) every two weeks on the Night shift, 12 hour shifts and every third weekend.\n\nThe RN role offers an additional $2.00 / hour for being in the Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool.\n\nFairview offers a nurse residency program for eligible new graduate RNs taking this role with the organization! • Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes.\n
• Involves the patient, family and other health team members in gathering data.\n
• Uses an ongoing, systematic process to gather relevant information (biological, psychological, spiritual and social aspects) from patient and family.\n
• Prioritizes interventions based on patient acuity, available resources, and patient / family preferences and needs..\n
• Initiates patient / family teaching as appropriate to age, readiness to learn and available resources.\n
• Collaborates, consults, or makes referrals if unable to perform safely and independently.\n
• Uses the full range of therapeutic modalities to support and augment the healing process, moving from least intensive and invasive to more, depending on need and context.\n
• Involves the patient, family and other health team members in evaluating care.\n
• Collaborates and communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, family and members of the health care team within and across care settings to promote partnership-based health care\n\nRequired Qualifications\n
• MN Registered Nurse (RN) License\n
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)\n
• Will Consider New Grads\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n
• Bachelors Degree in Nursing or BAN\n
