Job Summary :

Perform a wide variety of skilled maintenance work on our converting, printing, andextruding equipment and various other ancillary equipment, as well as general repairs tobuilding and grounds.

Emphasis on Good analytical skills and ability to sourceother / outside resources to resolve issues, troubleshoot and repair electrical / electronicand mechanical problems;

repairing and replacing faulty components or parts, installingnew machines and equipment, performing Preventive Maintenance on equipment,maintaining parts and supplies inventories.

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical / electronic systems and control circuits.
  • Abilityto solve mechanical problems; repairing and replacing faulty components or parts, installing new machines and equipment, performing Preventive Maintenance on equipment, maintaining parts and supplies inventories.
  • Perform reactionary maintenance (i.e., repair machines, equipment, etc., whenrequired, as such goes down).
  • Preventive maintenance can carry out tasks and responsibilities associated withmaintenance of equipment, building and grounds, etc.
  • Plan and carry out tasks and responsibilities associated with special projects onexisting or new equipment or facilities.
  • Assumes responsibility for managing projects assigned.
  • Sources products and materials and obtains pricing for maintenance purchases.
  • Accountable for parts inventories relative to own needs and replenishing.
  • Perform most types of tool & die and fixture jobs.
  • Miscellaneous duties, projects and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Encourages teamwork with all department and / or facility members.

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • High School diploma, or GED equivalent; Prior experience in a Machine repairand maintenance Department, or technically oriented position desired.
  • Welding / Fabricating
  • Machining, Lathes, and Mills
  • Understanding of machine control systems, and electrical schematics

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondences.
  • Use Office software and enter work orders in our CMMS software

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands : This position requires the following on-the-job time performing physical activities :

Standing, walking, climbing and balancing over 2 / 3rd of work time. Stoop, kneel, crouch and crawling under 1 / 3rd of work time.

Work Environment : This position is required to perform duties that are exposed to the following environmental conditions :

  • Fumes or airborne particles, working near moving mechanical parts 2 / 3rd of work time
  • Toxic or caustic chemicals, work in high, precarious places under 1 / 3rd of work time
  • Risk of electrical shock 1 / 3rd to 2 / 3rd of work time
  • Vibration under 1 / 3rd of work time
  • The following noise level is typical for the work environment of this job :
  • Loud (Examples : metal can manufacture department, large earth-moving equipment)
  • Specific job duties that are affected by the environmental conditions selected above.
  • Exposure to continuously operating Extruding machines and related equipment
