Position Summary :
The basic function of the Maintenance Technician is to repair and maintain buildings, machinery, mechanical equipment, and production machines of GMM.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintain / install / repair structural, mechanical, electrical and other building systems.
- Observe mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble.
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Repair or replace defective parts. Install special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricate and clean parts.
- Start devices to test their performance.
- Operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metal working tools and equipment to make and repair parts.
- Initiate purchase order for replacement / repair items.
- Repair / install electrical / electronic equipment.
- Conduct monthly inspections of fire extinguishers; and emergency lights.
- Read and understand preventive maintenance manuals.
- Contact service people for repairs that they are unable to repair (major mechanical or electrical).
- Work with hydraulics and air compressors.
- Plans work sequence, obtains necessary tools and equipment to perform job.
- Perform preventative maintenance utilizing Crib Master Software.
- Instruct and assist in preparation of machine foundations.

Record of High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.Associate's degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year technical school; or six months to one year related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education andPreferred : Experience with CNC Machine repair, carpentry, electricity, hydraulics, pneumatics, metal working, and general industrial knowledge is beneficial.Physical Demands Include :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, and smell. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to see (20 / 25 vision with glasses, 20 / 25 without) and hear (with mechanical assistance if necessary) sufficient to understand and comprehend individual one-on-one conversations. Steel toed shoes is a requirement for this position.
Work Environment :
This person will work in a manufacturing environment which is temperature controlled for internal work within the building. Work in the warehouse or external to the building is not. The person will be working near moving mechanical parts and in high places. This setting involves manufacturing equipment with others working in close proximity.
