Scaffold Builders Opportunity

Brock Services, a company that provides services to oil refineries, is seeking Scaffold Builders for their projects in Billings, Montana. This position raises, places, and unites components of industrial scaffolding. Scaffolding may be free standing or attached to existing structures. Works under close supervision. Wage : $21.00 to $28.00 per hour based on qualifications.

Duties :

• Loads and unloads scaffold components and equipment.
• Sets up hoisting equipment for raising and placing scaffold components.
• Uses ropes and harnesses or ladders to access scaffolding sites.
• Bolts or screws sections together.
• Cuts, trims, or drills scaffold components for fit using hand and power tools.
• Verifies vertical and horizontal alignment of scaffold components using plumb bob, level, or other instruments.
• Disassembles scaffolding.
• Selects gear, such as cables, pulleys, and winches, according to load weight and size, facilities, and work schedule.
• Assembles and installs supporting structures, rigging, hoists, and pulling gear.
• Fabricates and repairs rigging, such as slings, tackle, and ladders.
• Attaches pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures, such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms with bolts and clamps.
• Attaches load to rigging, to provide support or prepare for moving.
• Signals or gives verbal directions to workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads, to ensure safety of workers and materials.
• Controls movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces.
• Manipulates rigging lines, hoists, and pulling gear, to move or support materials, such as heavy equipment.
• Tests rigging, to ensure safety and reliability.
• Modifies, cleans, and maintains scaffolding systems, units, fittings, and related machines and equipment, following specifications and using hand and power tools.
• Plans scaffold system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.
• Selects scaffold component sizes and types and related materials, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to specifications.
