The Microsoft Federal organization was established to address the unique mission, legal / regulatory requirements, and procurement rules and processes of the United States Government (USG).

Qualifications

Required / Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Business, or related field AND 3+ years leadership experience in relevant area of business

  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Data Engineering or MLOps role.
  • Experience with Azure services such as Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks, Azure Machine Learning, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Data Lake.
  • Experience with implementing CI / CD pipelines for data and machine learning workflows.

Other Requirements

Citizenship & Citizenship Verification : This position requires verification of U.S citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions.

Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and / or local United States government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law.

To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport.

Citizenship & Citizenship Verification : This role will require access to information that is controlled for export under U.

S. export control regulations, potentially under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations or the Export Administration Regulations.

As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide proof of citizenship, U.S. permanent residency or other protected status under 8 U.

S.C. 1324b(a)(3) for assessment of eligibility to access the export-controlled information. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport.

Cloud Screening :

Candidates must be able to successfully complete and pass a Microsoft Cloud background screening. Required Cloud Screenings will be administered on a recurring bi-annual basis.

Preferred Qualificaitons

The ability to obtain and maintain a goverment agency specific clearance.

5+ years experience in developing advanced applications using the full range of Azure services, including

  • SQL and experience with relational databases.
  • Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and data lake concepts.
  • Communication and collaboration skills Configuring Azure API Management.
  • Developing Azure functions and logic application.
  • Creating web frontends using React and similar languages.
  • Writing data transformation code in Python running in a Spark environment.
  • Integrating code with existing services in Azure, such as OpenAI, Azure Search, and other cognitive services.
  • Creating deployment pipelines using Git and associated components.
  • Working with data stores such as Azure SQL, Synapse, CosmosDB, Azure Data Lake and other Azure stores.

Technology Consulting IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,400 - $184,200 per year.

There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,000 - $194,400 per year.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates the ability to articulate value propositions for the most strategic Microsoft products and services

  • Uses business, technology, and industry strategies to define customer / partner requirements and constraints
  • Demonstrates expertise in a specific solution, or several products, feature functions, or services and drives opportunities to accelerate the adoption of the Microsoft Cloud
  • Drives and Supports innovation focusing on industry solutions and customer business outcomes on the Microsoft platform
  • Ensure solutions align with the intent of the architecture allowing for clear build test specifications and development of operations guides for the customer
  • Identifies business and technical risks in programs, assesses their impact, and proposes mitigations and contingencies
  • Provides stakeholder assistance throughout deployment to avoid / resolve technical issues
  • Balances Configure-Before-Customize principles with the goals of maximum customer / partner value and with the use of Microsoft core / baseline assets, people, products, and tools
  • Develops project plans that use the full project life cycle accounting for current & future business value of each solution while defining all technical dependencies for project
  • Work closely with customers and third party contractors to develop solutions. Articulate complex architectures to clients in clear, descriptive manner to help them comprehend and approve work done for the department.

Demonstrates the ability to directly implement solutions involving Microsoft Data, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence technologies

  • Design and implement robust, scalable, and efficient data pipelines using Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks, and other Azure services.
  • Develop and maintain data models and databases within Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, or other Azure storage services.
  • Implement machine learning models into production using Azure Machine Learning Service and Azure Kubernetes Service.
  • Monitor and manage machine learning model performance and data quality.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.
  • Continuously evaluate new Azure services and tools to enhance the capability of the data engineering and MLOps infrastructure.
  • Integrating code with existing services in Azure, such as OpenAI, Azure Search, and other cognitive services
