Overview We are seeking a Social Media Manager to build and lead our organic social media presence from the ground up, with a strong focus on North American sports betting and online casino gaming. The Social Media Manager will design the vision for our social activity while actively executing daily operations — posting, engaging, moderating, and testing new formats.
The role ensures that social platforms are a trusted source of brand authority, inbound traffic, and campaign amplification for assets within the sports betting and casino affiliation space. The manager will build engaged communities around key sporting moments and casino entertainment, and pave the way for influencer and community-driven projects.
The ideal candidate will craft innovative social media strategies tailored to the fast-paced betting and gaming landscape, collaborate with Marketing, Commercial, and Business stakeholders, maximize visibility during major North American sporting events, elevate online casino verticals, and provide leadership to junior professionals.
Your Challenge Social Media Management Collaborate with Business and Marketing Stakeholders to elaborate strategies, customized social plans, and calendars for assets.
Plan, manage, and execute daily organic social media activity across multiple platforms to achieve goals.
Community Engagement Drive engagement across platforms to build a sustained sports and gaming community; implement initiatives that strengthen brand presence and encourage user-generated content.
Monitor conversations, trends, and audience sentiment to foster relationships with followers.
Work with Content, SEO, Lifecycle, Paid Media, and Commercial stakeholders to ensure social supports wider objectives (distribution, monetization, brand authority, synergy with paid).
Provide guidance to freelancers and junior team members to ensure efficient execution and broad coverage.
Advise stakeholders on platform-specific strategies and evolving opportunities.
Shape platform strategies aligned with audience, identity, and business goals.
Identify inbound opportunities to drive traffic from social to sites where relevant.
Contribute to influencer and community-driven projects, laying foundations for future collaborations.
Compliance & Governance Ensure activity is compliant with legal provisions and best practices; refine internal procedures for efficient and sustainable social channel usage.
Stay updated on platform policy changes and adjust strategies accordingly.
Leadership & Team Management Manage team performance through ongoing performance management, including reviews and regular 1-on-1s.
Lead by example and be a visible Catena ambassador.
Communicate effectively and ensure timely information delivery.
Own recruitment and selection for the team in collaboration with HR and TA.
Enable team and individual growth from induction to ongoing learning and development.
Requirements 4+ years of experience in social media management with a proven track record of building and scaling projects.
Hands-on expertise in publishing, community management, and content optimization across major platforms.
Experience leading or guiding junior team members and freelancers (desirable).
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
Strong understanding of compliance and platform policies in regulated industries, particularly gambling and sports betting.
Knowledge of the North American gambling market is highly desirable.
Ability to work flexible hours around major sports calendars (evenings / weekends).
Collaborative mindset with experience across content, social, and commercial teams.
Experience in influencer or branded content collaborations (desirable).
Working Model This role will initially be carried out on a fully remote basis and will transition to a hybrid working model once the Miami hub is up and running.
Working Conditions This position is 100% remote and may require availability during regular business hours in your evening and / or weekend.
Must have a stable, high-speed internet connection and working mobile device.
Ability to perform tasks independently or as part of a team; manage multiple priorities under deadlines; demonstrate discretion with confidential matters.
Physical Requirements Primarily sedentary work; computer use up to 8 hours per day; occasional evening / weekend work may be required.
Ability to travel by automobile or air and stay in public facilities as needed.
