Optical Design Engineer

Your Job

Molex is looking for an enthusiastic aspiring Optical Design Engineer to join our team in a full-time role. This individual will design cutting edge technology for new fiber optical products with the direction of multi-disciplined teams, including sales and marketing, product line managers, electrical, mechanical, and optical R&D teams, and work with colleagues of different geographic sites.

In this role, you will work as a member of a dynamic multi-discipline team (product line management, electrical, mechanical, optical, and systems R&D, test development and automation, manufacturing, etc.), with colleagues from cross-continental geographic sites, and interact effectively with internal and external component suppliers

What You Will Do

• Design new fiber optical products and manage product extensions
• Work with chief / principal optical engineer to design new products, build optical models and performance error and tolerance analysis
• Perform design verification activities to ensure that optical design meets the specifications of the customers and standard organizations
• Release drawings of optical components and sub-assemblies
• Provide technical guidance to process engineers and technicians
• Provide technical support to customers and suppliers
• Provide technical support on processes development

What Will Put You Ahead

For this role, we anticipate paying $90,000-$130,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
