Journeyman Electrician (Travel)

The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems at USAF sites in commercial, industrial, and residential settings. This position requires a high level of expertise, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities :

• Survey and Inspection :
• Inspect electrical components, such as power panels, conduit pathways, circuit breakers and grounding systems.
• Identify electrical systems using a variety of testing devices.
• Safety and Compliance :
• Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electrical Code.
• Work with blueprints and diagrams of circuits and wiring to complete inspections.
• Testing and Inspections :
• Conduct resistance testing and documentation of existing ground systems.
• Conduct power panel load testing.
• Analyze and interpret test data to diagnose malfunctions.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
• Customer Service :
• Communicate effectively with clients and team.
• Provide detailed and accurate reports on inspections performed.
• Offer guidance on the proper usage of electrical systems and appliances to clients.

Qualifications :

• Education and Certification :
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training program.
• Valid Journeyman Electrician License.
• Experience :
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as an electrician.
• Proven experience working with electrical systems in residential, commercial, and / or industrial settings.
• Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Strong understanding of electrical code requirements and safety standards.
• Proficient with electrical equipment and hand tools.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Physical stamina and dexterity to handle electrical tasks.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong work ethic and reliability

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.67 / hr.
