About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Development Officer (CDO) to lead and manage all aspects of its comprehensive fundraising efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for increasing annual philanthropic revenue and must have a proven track record in nonprofit development, including major gifts, planned giving, grants, corporate partnerships, endowment, and events. The CDO will be tasked with identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major donors, as well as developing and implementing strategies to enhance the organization's culture of philanthropy. This senior position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, the ability to work with a transformational team, and a passion for the company's mission.

Applicants for the CDO position at the company should have at least 7 years' of leadership experience in a relevant role and a demonstrated ability to solicit 6 and 7 figure major gifts. Essential qualifications include a deep understanding of development best practices, the capacity to make sound executive decisions, and the ability to inspire and motivate colleagues and supporters. The role also involves managing a development team, overseeing the budget, and representing the organization at various events. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills, and be adept at using technology for donor management.
