JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE : FINANCE & BENEFIT ASSOCIATE

PROGRAM : Administration

STATUS : Full Time; On-Site

FLSA DESIGNATION : Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO : Finance Supervisor

DEGREE : High School Diploma or GED (Business Classes preferred)

EXPERIENCE : General Accounting including General Ledger data entry and payroll data entry preferred

ROP : $17.50- $18.50 / Hour

POSITION OVERVIEW :

The Finance and Benefit Associate is responsible for supporting the financial operations of the

organization by performing a variety of accounting and payroll-related tasks. This position ensures the

accurate and timely processing of payroll, maintenance of financial records, and adherence to relevant

regulations and company policies. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational

skills, and the ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.

SKILLS :

  • Detail oriented with strong computer skills.

  • Computer proficient in use of Microsoft Applications and Cloud Based Finance Software
  • PHYSICIAL / ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS :

  • Occasional lifting (15 pounds or less).
  • Occasional standing / sitting / stair climbing.

  • AGENCY EXPECTATIONS :

  • Complies with all policies and procedures of Pinnacle Community Services (including the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and corporate Compliance Policies) and all governmental and legal requirements
  • Attends and participates in appropriate agency staff trainings and meetings
  • Advocates for team focused solutions
  • JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Works with the Finance Team and program teams to ensure all financial and payroll activities are accurately submitted, verified and approved.
  • Follows the designated policy and procedures to review and develop sound checks and balances pertaining to fiscal operations; including accounts recevable and accounts payable
  • Ensures all costs are appropriately documented, allocated and verified, based on the guidelines for each funder.
  • Prepares, enters and monitors payroll information
  • Prepares payroll related records and remittances
  • Prepares payroll reports as required by outside sources
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate documentation of purchases, invoices and receipts are submitted to finance software appropriately
  • Submits invoices and verifies details are accurately included to correctly direct invoice charges
  • Monitors and performs random audits of all petty cash accounts
  • Processes new employee payroll related information
  • Monitor and submit all payments for benefits, staff mileage and contracted services, ensure accuracy.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with staff, service providers and auditors
  • Assists with other duties in Finance and Payroll / HR to assure appropriate completion and good checks and balances
  • Assists Human Resources Officer as needed in payroll, benefits, onboarding and filing duties

  • Prepares monthly benefit billings
  • Responds to employment / wage inquiries
  • Responds to unemployment wage inquiries
  • Notify / track benefit payments for those on leaves of absence
  • Assists with completion of employee ADP files and onboarding duties as requested.
  • Assists in ensuring accuracy of charges for any costs affected by staff changes, turnover or new hires.
  • Performs other duties assigned by Supervisor and Administration
