Role Overview : The Local Office Director leads staff and manages operations within the DCS office. You will also participate in regional child welfare practice decisions. You will integrate and embed a learning environment for all staff, and a culture and climate of respect towards children, families, and staff alike. The Local Office Director will partner with internal and external partners to successfully fulfill the agency's mission.

This position is in the Scottsburg DCS Office and will serve Scott County, and surrounding counties as needed.

Salary : The salary for this position traditionally starts at $75,010 but may be commensurate with education or work experience. Use our Compensation Calculator to view the total compensation package.

A Day in the Life : The essential functions of this role are :

• Oversee the management of local office operations.
• Establish and / or communicate and interpret policy and objectives to supervisors and staff.
• Interact with the community by attending meetings, serving on committees and boards, giving presentations to interested groups by informing the media.
• Set goals and objectives for Child Welfare management to ensure children are protected and / or are moved to permanency in a timely and efficient manner.
• Attend Local Office Director meetings and various local community partner meetings.
• Recruit, select, onboard, and train employees to ensure role responsibilities and expectations are clearly understood while providing opportunities to continue professional development.
• Set expectations, measure progress, provide ongoing feedback, and evaluate the performance of employees. Ensure work adheres to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures.
