Duties:Teaching Ceramics I or upper level ceramics courses, II, III, and IV stacked. Mixing clay, loading, unloading and firing kilns. Working cooperatively with other ceramics lecturers in coordination of the facility. Required Education MFA in a related art discipline Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities •Ability to teach hand building and throwing techniques
•Ability to work with a diverse population of students
•Ability to work collaboratively with the faculty member in charge of the Ceramics studio
•Professional work must reflect a high level of technical ability and an understanding of and an interest in contemporary issues in the field of ceramics and/or the broader field of art
•Experience mixing clay, loading and unloading work, and firing electric and gas kilns
Preferred Qualifications •Experience teaching throwing and hand building techniques simultaneously in the same semester
•Teaching experience at a college level
•Exhibition record in the field is expected
