Job Overview

Bockmon & Woody Electric Co., Inc., located in Stockton, CA, is seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Estimator to join our team. This position involves preparing detailed electrical cost estimates for commercial, industrial, institutional, and solar projects, including design-build proposals. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to meet deadlines, and a strong background in electrical estimating.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare Design / Build, conceptual, and budget estimates.
  • Execute timely and accurate material take-offs.
  • Develop scope letters and proposals for submission.
  • Collaborate with the Pre-Construction Department to streamline processes.
  • Participate in new project kick-off meetings to ensure smooth project initiation.
  • Evaluate drawings and specifications to determine project requirements.
  • Ensure accurate cost estimation for profitability and competitiveness.
  • Embrace technology and process improvements to enhance estimating efficiency.
  • Other duties as assigned to support estimating functions.

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Estimating Software (e.g., Accubid Anywhere or EBM).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with RFIs, material take-offs, negotiating, and reading plans / specifications.
  • Knowledge of the NEC and local electrical codes is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

    • Preferred Skills and Experience :

  • Field experience as an electrician.
  • Strong familiarity with physical electrical design, including switchgear layouts, distribution panels, power panels, and equipment arrangements.
