Position Title : Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

Location : Woodland Hills, CA

Setting : Detox / Residential Treatment Facility

Schedule : Full-Time, 8-Hour Shifts

Pay Range : $35 – $39 per hour (depending on experience)

Position Summary

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) plays an essential role in providing compassionate and comprehensive medical care to clients in a detox and residential behavioral health setting. The LVN is responsible for monitoring client health, administering medications, and collaborating with clinical and support staff to ensure a safe, therapeutic, and compliant treatment environment.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform daily client assessments and monitor vital signs.
  • Administer prescribed medications and ensure accurate documentation in the EMR system.
  • Monitor for withdrawal symptoms and promptly report any medical or behavioral changes to the Nurse Supervisor or attending provider.
  • Assist in coordinating care with physicians, clinical staff, and outside healthcare providers as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, medication logs, and treatment notes.
  • Support detox protocols and ensure adherence to physician orders and facility policies.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and follow appropriate crisis intervention procedures.
  • Educate clients on prescribed medications and health-related topics.
  • Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and facility regulations, including DHCS and Joint Commission standards.
  • Participate in shift hand-offs and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary team members.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe nursing station and medication storage area.

Qualifications

  • Active and unrestricted LVN license in the State of California.
  • CPR / First Aid certification required.
  • Previous experience in detox, residential treatment, or behavioral health preferred.
  • Knowledge of addiction treatment protocols, withdrawal management, and medication administration.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and compassionate in a fast-paced environment.
