Job Description

The Account Manager is responsible for guiding New Product Development (NPD) projects through the process of transforming customer needs and requirements into thermoforming packaging solutions. The Account Manager communicates and collaborates with internal task owners across various functions to ensure the timely launch of commercialized finished goods.

Essential Accountabilities

  • Serve as communication liaison between Placon NPD and external / internal customers for all assigned

Acknowledge first orders and send launch notifications to the NPD

  • Respond to general customer inquiries (i.e. development status, shipping information, ).
  • Meet with customers as needed (including occasional travel with Sales personnel).
  • Gather, send and invoice
  • Maintain effective communication regarding project status, requirements, changes, etc., with the customer as requested by Sales Address all customer questions and concerns in a timely manner and provide accurate information. Inform Sales personnel of any critical customer issues.
  • Coordinate and maintain all necessary project information for production launches and process change requests and effectively communicate with all departments as needed.
  • Coordinate quality (PPAP, ) requirements with all departments to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Utilize appropriate project management tools to respond to customers'
  • Project scope & goal definition

  • Identify resource requirements
  • Document milestones & schedules
  • Facilitate team meetings & record keeping
  • Follow-up on action items
  • Provide accurate information to other departments regarding customer requirements and supply goods in a timely manner.

  • Keep fellow Account Managers informed regarding assigned jobs that may affect their
  • Manage New Product Development
  • Manage project stages to meet timeline

  • Communicate with designers to track projects with high probability to launch into
  • Initiate ECOs on parts and
  • Set up new customers in the
  • Review status of projects on a weekly basis and notify key players as
  • Attend regular meetings with Engineering, Operations, and Customer Service teams to discuss the status of current and upcoming projects. Participate in Design Reviews as needed.
  • Submit purchase requisitions, where applicable, for NPD items not covered by Perform task responsibilities within New Product Development in collaboration with Customer Experience.
  • Customer Orders - Account Manager (1st Order); Customer Experience (Subsequent Orders)

  • Cross Reference Numbers (notified by Customer Experience)
  • Shipping Information – Account Manager (Initial Shipment); Customer Experience (Subsequent Shipments). Manage all aspects of Purchased Finished Goods.
  • Obtain quotes and approvals for print plates on Tyvek lidding, cartons, and

  • Set up projects - specifications in Oracle and obtain account
  • File approved drawings, graphics, and
  • Communicate details between purchasing and sales to obtain quotes from
  • Continually search for and recommend new and better ways for the department to operate and service all
  • Lead and execute special projects as assigned by
  • Perform all other duties as
  • Minimum qualifications

    A Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or related field and some project management, customer service and / or

    manufacturing experience; or Associate's degree with five years related experience.

  • Position Requirements

    Work Environment Conditions :

    Inside (office) – ability to sit for 8 hours per day

    Equipment / Tools Used :

    Computer, phone, copy machine, Oracle, MS Office software
