Description of Job Function 1. Manages all program activities including student mentoring, peer coaching, and career experiences. Initiates and sets goals based on the college and partner’s strategic objectives. Ensures compliance with program requirements, as well as accountability and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Strategizes, implements, and maintains program initiatives to evaluate and enhance program efficiencies and impact. Description of Job Function 2. Serves as the primary point of contact for the Rosen Scholars program at the college. Provides developmental advising to students in individual and/or group settings, including discussions and referrals to appropriate resources to support their academic, social, and career success (i.e., financial aid, career center, tutoring center, and student development programs, etc.). Description of Job Function 3. Develops and implements strategies to assist students in choosing an academic program aligned with their life, career, and educational goals, interests, and strengths and in developing an education plan to earn their selected degree and evaluate the students’ academic progress on a regular basis. Description of Job Function 4. Provides guidance to students in identifying and applying academic and personal behaviors needed to succeed in college. Liaises with other college departments to resolve and/or address student concerns, understanding when it is appropriate to escalate emerging Issues. Description of Job Function 5. Develops program assessment protocols to evaluate program strengths and identify areas for improvement. Assesses and implements changes and interventions to ensure program goals are achieved. Description of Job Function 6. Initiates and collaborates with faculty, staff, and community partners in the development of co-curricular experiences and workshops to promote the academic and social integration of students in the college community. Analyzes and determines student programming needs and manages the scheduling of workshops. Description of Job Function 7. Develops communication strategies to engage, support, and retain students as well as promote program activities. Provides regular contact with program participants through email and social networking media. Description of Job Function 8. Works collaboratively with other Partnerships for Educational Excellence (P2E) team members in the recruitment, preparation, and facilitation for workshop presenters, activity leaders, and other program participants supporting college- or division-wide events (i.e., college/industry tours, student panels, career speakers, and conference participation). Description of Job Function 9. Partners with faculty, staff, and program partners to deliver high-quality and engaging opportunities for students to build cohort community, promote connections to faculty, staff, and partners, and accomplish program requirements. Description of Job Function 10. Manages the process and tools to collect and maintain records on each Rosen Scholar and other program-related files. Description of Job Function 11. Analyzes, collects, and reports outcome information about program activities and student success. Develops and distributes a variety of reports and makes recommendations to leadership as well as appropriate external partners. Description of Job Function 12. Responds to requests from external partners, coordinates site visits, and attends regular meetings. Description of Job Function 13. Participates in college, regional, and state professional development activities and meetings to enhance effectiveness of program strategies. Description of Job Function 14. May assist in managing program budget, as appropriate. Description of Job Function 15. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Drivers License Requirement Drivers License Requirement Required Qualifications Required Minimum Education Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution, or any equivalent combination of related education, training, and/or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions. Required Field of Study Other Required Qualifications Two (2) years of experience working with students in an educational setting to include such things as developmental advising, holistic student support, and student engagement. Required License/Certification Preferred Qualifications Preferred Education & Field of Study Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
Experience with preschool educational Initiatives, public school support and scholarship programs.

Working Conditions General Working Conditions This job operates in a professional office environment and throughout the College’s worksites and grounds. Within the professional office environment, the employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the office work environment is usually quiet and occasionally moderate.
While operating outside of the office environment, the employee may be exposed to elements including but not limited to wet/humid weather, extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and unpleasant odors. The role may also involve hazards or physical risks, which require comprehending and following basic safety precautions and may require Personal Protection Equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.
Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to remaining stationary, moving, ascending/descending, positioning self, reaching, lifting/moving objects weighing between 5-100 pounds. This job also entails frequently communicating, discerning and exchanging information, detecting and perceiving objects up close, at a distance, and the ability to adjust focus. Cognitive abilities include but are not limited to discretion, judgment, reasoning, memory, learning, maintaining confidentiality, comprehension, problem solving, and decision-making.
