Job Position : Teacher of the Visually Impaired

Location : Romeoville, IL 60446

Compensation : Starting at $45 / hour

Shift : Full time

Description : The Visually Impaired Teacher is responsible for planning instructional lessons that meet the needs, interests and abilities of visually impaired students; creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning; and employing effective instructional techniques for the necessary curriculum adaptations.

Qualifications :

• Current Illinois (PEL) Professional Educator License with Teacher of Students Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired Endorsement
• Knowledge of current teaching techniques for students with visual impairments
• Ability to write and implement Individual Educational Plans (IEPs)
• Ability to provide help in modifying instructional materials for students assigned
• Excellent communications skills with students, teachers, and parents, and a willingness to spend the time to assure that such communication takes place
• Ability to work cooperatively with support personnel on a daily basis
• Additional duties may from time to time be assigned in accordance with provisions of the Board's policies and requirements.
