Employee Relations Manager
The Employee Relations Manager will play a pivotal role in enabling a positive work environment, fostering strong relationships between employees and the organization while ensuring fair and equitable treatment of all employees. With a focus on conflict resolution, policy enforcement, and compliance with employment laws and regulations, the Employee Relations Manager serves as a trusted advisor and resource for employees and management alike.
Your expertise will be instrumental as you track and resolve employee relations matters in a fast-paced environment. More specifically, you will conduct investigations, advise, and guide managers on disciplinary actions, including performance improvement plans, prepare detailed documentation and ensure timely case resolution while owning matters beginning to end. The successful candidate will have the ability to demonstrate flexibility and maintain focus while managing changing demands and priorities.
Principle responsibilities include :
- Serve as a primary contact to manage the performance management processes for both hourly and salaried employees, including coaching and counseling support
- Partner with leaders to develop and monitor the implementation of a performance improvement process with non-performing employees and reviews, guides and approves management recommendations for employment terminations.
- Advise and guide managers on disciplinary actions, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations
- Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into employee complaints, allegations of misconduct or violations of company policies; recommend follow up actions, as necessary, and ensure all appropriate next steps are followed.
- Serve as a primary point of contact to investigate workplace issues and conflicts providing guidance, support, and resolution strategies
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to employee relations activities, ensuring confidentiality and data privacy
- Collaborate with HR business partners, legal counsel, and management to ensure consistency and compliance in addressing complex employee relations issues and mitigate risk to the organization
- Develop and implement employee relations policies, procedures, and training programs to promote a culture of respect, fairness, and professionalism
- Train managers and supervisors on best practices for handling employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and terminations
- Stay updated on employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate potential liabilities
- Analyze trends and patterns in employee relations issues; identify areas for improvement, and recommend proactive measures to address root causes
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required include :
