Accounting Manager (Bilingual in Korean)
Job Summary
As an Accounting Manager at Kakao Entertainment Global Corp., you will oversee financial operations for our U.S.-based K-pop initiatives, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency. You will manage accounting processes to support artist promotions, merchandise sales, and business growth in the U.S. market. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you will drive financial accuracy, manage audits, and provide insights to support our global presence in the entertainment industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with U.S. GAAP standards.
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance, feedback, and support to foster collaboration and professional development.
- Implement process improvements to streamline financial operations, including accruals, disbursements, and intercompany accounting.
- Oversee month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Review monthly ledger account reconciliations and journal entries, analyzing fluctuations for accuracy and compliance.
- Develop and maintain corporate accounting and disbursement policies, aligning with U.S. market trends and K-pop branding.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to audit standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain effective financial controls to mitigate U.S. GAAP compliance and operational risks.
- Provide financial insights through budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to support artist visibility and revenue growth.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to support organizational goals.
Qualifications
Possess 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, ideally in the entertainment or music industry.Demonstrate 1+ years of supervisory experience, leading teams effectively.Hold a Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.CPA certification (preferred).Exhibit strong organizational and multitasking skills, with experience managing financial projects under tight deadlines.Apply analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills to financial data.Maintain knowledge of U.S. GAAP and regulatory standards, with the ability to research proper accounting principles.Show commitment to accuracy and detail in financial processes.Thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong time management skills.Demonstrate self-motivation and initiative.Communicate effectively with internal teams, artists, and external stakeholders.Utilize proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).Preferred Skills
Earned a Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.Gained experience in the entertainment industry.Understand international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS).Achieved success in implementing process improvements or system upgrades.Possess business-level proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Korean.Demonstrate working knowledge of Oracle ERP and creating OBIEE inquiries.Why Join Us?
