We're currently looking for a
- Machinist
- to study work orders, drawings, and engineering plans; produce parts by operating computer numerical control (CNC) and manual equipment; operate mills, lathes, using simple mathematics and recognized machine shop practices; and complete preventative maintenance requirements.
POSITION SUMMARY
Produces machined parts by studying work orders, drawings, engineering plans, materials, and specifications; setting up and operating CNC machines; programming mills and lathes; and completing preventative maintenance requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Plans machining by studying work orders, drawings, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces and machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).Programs mills and lathes utilizing standard programming languages.Sets-up mills and lathes to meet production requirements.Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position and removes completed partsVerifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part and sample workpieces; adhering to accepted quality standardsMaintains specifications by observing machine processes while adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.Inspect completed parts to the specifications outlined in the work order, blueprints and / or engineering department documents, including the use of a CMM system.Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.May perform other duties as assigned by management.SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
A two-year technical degree / certificate in machine tool technology or comparable work experience.Three plus years of experience in a CNC machining work environment.Computer Demonstrated skill and proficiency with CNC machine tool programming languages and with ERP systems. Ability to learn computer applications required.
Knowledge of raw materials, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of company products.Knowledge in the use of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments. Instruments include, but are not limited to, calipers, ID / OD micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, and scales.Working knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques as applied to the manufacture of the company's products.Ability to listen and communicate clearly, fluently, and diplomatically orally and in writing in the English language; also, to maintain excellent interpersonal and cooperative relationships with management and stafff.Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and accurately follow through on work activities with time constraints and interruptions to meet deadlines as well as to work independently with a minimum amount of direction and / or supervision.Ability to remain flexible, resilient, calm, and maintain a sense of humor.Ability to work effectively and respectively with staff, managers, executives, and others with a variety of working styles to achieve accountability and results and maintain service excellence.Ability to meet the physical and mental requirements of the essential job functions.Regular, consistent, punctual attendance is an essential function of this position.Job Type : Full-time
Pay : $25.46 - $30.13 per hour
