Mechanical Design Drafter Background check & drug test required - US / Green Card Job Title : Mechanical Design Drafter Employment Type : Contract Pay rate range - $35.00 to $40.00 / hr Overview : We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Drafter to support engineering efforts on upcoming projects. This role focuses on creating precise drawings and documentation that will guide the manufacturing and assembly of mechanical components and systems. You will work closely with engineers to translate their designs into detailed, production-ready drawings. Key Responsibilities : Develop assembly drawings, detailed part drawings, and exploded-view drawings from engineering concepts and models. Create designs for castings, machine parts, sheet metal enclosures, and motor drive assemblies. Utilize SolidWorks to generate accurate 2D and 3D models. Prepare and maintain bills of materials (BOMs), notes, and supporting documentation. Revise and update drawings as design changes occur. Ensure drawings comply with industry standards, tolerances, and material specifications. Collaborate with engineers and manufacturing teams to resolve design and production challenges. Provide drafting support for prototypes and production builds. Qualifications : Proficiency in SolidWorks (required). Strong knowledge of mechanical drafting practices, tolerances, and documentation standards. Experience preparing assembly and detailed drawings. Familiarity with 3D printing technologies a plus. Ability to work independently while supporting engineering objectives. Previous contractor or consulting experience welcome. Schedule : Full-time, standard business hours. Contract role with potential for ongoing project-based work.
