Your Role

You will own and develop the backend systems to serve our API, customer integration layer, data services, video generation infrastructure, and customer portal. You want to design and build foundational systems and end-to-end products on top of them. You take pride in building reliable, maintainable, and scalable services. You can transform product requirements into designs and systems that anticipate our needs as we evolve. You take pride in impact, and make judgment calls on how to build with consistent progress.

Fable is founded by the early team from Abormal Security ($5B valuation) and backed by Greylock. Our team has built many of the iconic products at Meta, Twitter, Flexport, and more. Our team has alumni from Waterloo, Columbia, Berkeley, Purdue, CMU, Stanford, and USC.

Your skillset

3+ years building backends for web applications or APIs in Python

Designed, implemented, and owned a production-facing system

Experience with one of :

Experience building and integrating with external APIs a plus

Relational DB backends (Django or similar)

Experience building ETL and data pipelines a plus

Experience with building distributed systems and backends

Experience with AWS, terraform, EKS, and cloud systems

Strong desire to be part of an early team and create foundational systems

The estimated salary range for this position is $135,000 - $220,000 / year. Total compensation for this position may also include Restricted Stock units, sign-on bonus and other potential future incentives. Further note that total compensation for this position will be determined by each individual’s relevant qualifications, work experience, skills, and other factors.
