Job Description :
Network Engineers will report to Project Managers and Service Delivery Managers.
Survey network requirements of remote field offices (approx. 1950 sites) and campus buildings. Define network / wireless LAN (WLAN) equipment, cables, adapters, and configurations needed to upgrade buildings and sites to established standards.Lead the rollout of WLAN solutions to remote field offices nationwide. Responsible for design improvements, operation, and maintenance of the Network Admission Control (NAC) system for WLAN and Virtual Private Networking (VPN) access.Analyze current network configurations and determine implementation requirements.Negotiate installation dates / times with customers and coordinate with field installation contractors. Assemble required equipment, cables, adapters, etc., and arrange delivery to sites for installation.Prepare network equipment for deployment by loading appropriate software and configuration settings according to pre-engineered design templates.Plan, prepare, and execute site surveys for WLAN / NAC implementation.Upgrade configurations of existing network equipment to support new features and functions.Manage field installation contractors on-site and provide all technical details for site surveys and installations.Continuously review customer networks and practices to identify opportunities to enhance network functionality, performance, and reliability.Assist in evaluating potential network products or technical solutions. Test LAN / WAN / WLAN / NAC equipment software (e.g., IOS, CatOS).Contribute to developing network documentation, including diagrams, standards, specifications, and operating procedures.Monitor for opportunities to improve network / system performance and reliability.Monitor for opportunities to enhance service delivery practices.Manage ongoing network installation and upgrade projects. Maintain deployment schedules, provide guidance to team members, and report status metrics to government and client management.Provide third-level support and troubleshooting for network issues. Periodically support after-hours and weekend tasks.Maintain and extend expertise in relevant network and hardware / software technologies.Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems / Computer Science or related field with 12 years of relevant experience; or Master's Degree with 10 years; or PhD with 7 years.5 years of experience in networking engineering within large enterprise networks (>3,000 nodes).
CCIE level certification in Routing & Switching, wireless, security, or data center, or equivalent.3 years of experience with AWS network connectivity for large enterprises.Ability to obtain and maintain a Position of Public Trust clearance.Preferred Qualifications :
5 years of experience with WAN technologies such as MPLS, DMVPN, Frame Relay.5 years of experience with LAN technologies including Ethernet and wireless LAN, along with associated physical media and equipment.5 years of experience with Network Admission Control (NAC) and Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE) for wireless and wired networks.Proven ability to adapt to new technologies and learn necessary skills.Mature, self-motivated, adaptable, and team-oriented.Ability to develop and execute detailed plans for tasks and projects.Experience in analyzing and documenting use cases and detailed requirements.Possession of one or more additional certifications such as CISSP, PCNSE, or ITIL is a plus.Seniority level
