Position Summary :

The Local Delivery Driver will interact directly with the Facilities Manager, coworkers, and external business partners while operating company owned vehicles to facilitate company transportation and delivery needs.

The Local Delivery Driver is responsible for executing a variety of general labor and specific trade work tasks requiring repetitive lifting, climbing, balancing, walking, and stooping with heavy materials.

Strong work ethic, positive attitude and promptness are key attributes of a successful Local Delivery Driver. The Local Delivery Drivers job also includes ensuring that work process and quality supports the company's overall strategy and goals.

• Follow and promote all company safety policies and procedures
• Communicate effectively with all organizational levels and external business partners
• Maintain clean work and storage areas
• Protect entrepreneurial information and workplace confidentiality
• Always demonstrate a high level of professionalism
• Attend weekly Toolbox Talk meetings
• Consistently positively represent Culver Equipment through behaviors, performance, and communication
• Perform side responsibilities as needed and requested by supervisor
• Delivery a wide variety of items to different addresses and different routes
• Load, unload, prepare, inspect, and operate company vehicles
• Competently and safely operate a forklift
• Expected to obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures
• Inspect and maintain vehicles as instructed
• Conduct additional activities including material handling / yard work and payment collection
• Properly report mechanical problems with vehicles in a timely manner
• Verify loads to shipping documentation
• Conduct daily yard tasks and checks
• Work in a variety of weather conditions
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Required Qualification :

• Must be a minimum of 18 years old
• Must have a valid state I.D.
• Must have and be able to use personal communication device for business communication on responsibilities
• Possess DOT card or the ability to obtain one
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to speak and read English
• Ability to use basic computer software applications
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
• Exercise Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels Legally
• Legally allowed to work in the United States

Required Education :

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 2 years of professional delivery or driver experience
• Experience driving flatbed and trailered vehicles a plus

Physical demands & work environment :

• Frequent standing and walking
• Consistent use of hands and the ability to reach with arms
• Consistent use of fine motor skills using fingers to handle or feel
• Sitting for long periods of time
• Required to be able to speak and hear
• Repetitive pushing, pulling, and lifting of objects up to 50 pounds
• Ability to squat, bend and kneel as a repetitive job action
• Ability to work in a variety of in climate weather conditions

Position Type / Expected Work Hours :

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are ultimately dictated per need. Some weekend or evening hours may be necessary.

Travel :

This position requires local travel with occasional / minimal overnight stays at the company's expense
