About The Role Samsung SmartThings is constantly working to bring new product to market, and we are seeking a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to drive our leading edge projects.

As a Technical Program Manager, you will help lead complex software and firmware development projects through the entire lifecycle, from requirements definition to production deployment.

By coordinating projects, resolving operational and technical issues, and managing key product development processes, you will deliver products and integrations that create value for SmartThings and our partners.

About The Role

About The Team

The Technical Program Management team is a group of high performing, collaborative TPMs who excel at working with cross functional teams to deliver on SmartThings goals and initiatives.

We're passionate about bringing structure and organization to the ambiguous, and working with engineering and product teams to successfully deliver.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide program management leadership on complex software and hardware solutions; including facilitation of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), identification and management of risks and coordination among teams.
  • Provide program status updates to executives, partners and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the global Technical Program Management team to drive improvements in the program management practice area.

What You Bring On Day One (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Demonstrated program management experience; including planning, project execution, and issue / risk management
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Strong relationship building skills and the ability to work with varying levels of individual contributors and management.
  • 5 + years experience as Technical Program Manager for software projects preferred
  • Experience with formal engineering and product development processes (e.g. Scrum, Agile, SAFe)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Able to concisely communicate with and influence stakeholders, engineers, partner teams, and executives
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced and sometimes high-pressure environment
  • Ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems
  • Experience with Jira / Confluence

Nice to Have

While not required for success in the role, it would be a bonus to have :

  • Knowledge of Korean language
  • Knowledge of mobile and cloud software development
  • International business and organizational experience

Compensation for this role for a candidate based in Mountain View is expected to be between $141,937 and $201,551
