Summary
The MRI Technologist performs all duties associated with acquisition, processing, submission for interpretation and archiving of MRI images; responsible for the quality of patient care; performance of daily activities, maintenance, and quality control performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs routine to complex magnetic resonance procedures and related techniques, producing images at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed independent practitioner.
- Level 2 MR Personnel trained and educated in the broader aspects of MR safety issues, including but not limited to issues related to the potential for RF-related thermal loading or burns and direct neuromuscular excitation from rapidly changing gradients.
- Reviews all diagnostic imaging physician orders and follows written and / or verbal protocols and instructions. All questionable orders are reviewed by Radiologist.
- Communicate equipment malfunctions and low inventory levels to the appropriate supervisor / lead.
- Educate patients and families regarding the exam and answer any questions as appropriate.
- Perform quality assurance, visual preventative safety inspections and report dangerous department or equipment conditions to the appropriate personnel.
- Demonstrates understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.
- Ensure physician's order and patient's clinical history information is documented and available for the Radiologist.
- Review patient history and screening questions / answers to ensure patient is safe to have the exam.

Minimum Required Education : Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program or MRI Program.Preferred Education : N / AExperience : Previous MRI experience preferred.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Applicants must have ARRT-MRI or ARMRIT certification or ARRT registered, and MRI certified within two years of employment.Must be BLS certified.
