Must-Have :

• BMT experience required for first-time travelers
• Venipuncture and IV insertion
• Central line care and accessing
• ONS Chemotherapy administration certification
• Wound and skin care
• Managing nausea, vomiting, and mucositis
• Monitoring lab values
• Infection prevention
• Transfusion of blood products

Description :

This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Oncology.

The ideal candidate will work within a 16-bed unit with an average census of 14 patients.

Patient ratios are typically 1 : 3-4 for RNs and 1 : 7-8 for CNAs.

Support within the department includes CNAs, unit secretaries, charge nurses, and 24 / 7 resource teams.

Central telemetry monitoring is also available.

The technology and equipment used include an electronic medical record system and various monitoring and medication dispensing devices.

Floating is required within the cancer center initially, followed by other medical-surgical units as needed.

Weekend rotation is expected every other weekend, along with holiday coverage for 75% of holidays.

RTO of up to 7 days will be considered if extending for a full 13 weeks.

The unit culture is characterized by a seasoned and team-oriented environment.

Scrub color is royal blue.
