Our client, a leading manufacturer of food packaging products, is seeking a Paper Process Engineer to join their team in Chicago, IL.
You will play a key role in managing and improving process control systems—from raw materials to finished products. This is an exciting opportunity to lead projects, optimize production efficiency, and drive innovation in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You Will Do
- Manage and complete projects of varying sizes and durations
- Coordinate with engineers, technicians, and designers to optimize processes
- Lead process failure investigations and implement long-term solutions
- Conduct feasibility studies for fabrication and processing improvements
- Assist with assembly and disassembly of process equipment
- Troubleshoot and implement engineering solutions to enhance operations
- Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for equipment and processes
- Work closely with production teams to improve efficiency and product quality
- Create test parameters and analyze performance data for process optimization
- Develop and execute continuous improvement plans
- Mentor and guide junior engineers
What you will bring :
Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in engineering or related field of study and three (3) years of related engineering experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be consideredExperience analyzing production equipment, processes and materials and solving issuesProven experience in project managementStrong coordination and leadership skillsAbility to conduct feasibility studies and troubleshoot engineering issuesExperience in developing SOPs and continuous improvement plansExcellent communication and collaboration skillsAbility to mentor and guide junior engineersAbility to travel up to 50% of the time, additional travel may be required during critical projects or business demandsAbility to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and passportValid driver’s license and favorable motor vehicle report upon hire
