Tax Director or Managing Director – Commercial Tax

Weaver is a full-service national accounting firm looking for an experienced tax leader to join our commercial tax practice. The role is based in the U.S. with a focus on federal tax compliance, planning, and consulting for large, middle‑market and public companies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow federal tax compliance and consulting engagements, including consolidated corporations, multi‑state businesses, private equity and partnership clients.
• Engage in business development – prepare proposals, participate in client meetings, and expand existing services.
• Build and mentor a high‑performance tax team, providing coaching, practice development, and succession planning.
• Maintain deep technical knowledge across industries such as manufacturing, technology, healthcare, professional services, and construction.
• Collaborate with practice leaders on strategy and deliver high-quality client service.
