Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining processes and operations in the production of turboexpanders, including machining, welding, balancing, and assembly. This role involves reducing production costs and enhancing efficiency while maintaining or improving product quality.
Job Description
- Analyze in-house and vendor manufacturing capabilities to establish the Bill of Operations (BOO) for all parts.
- Utilize engineering drawings from software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD to determine the most cost-effective and time-efficient methods for part production.
- Implement capitalization and improvement strategies based on previous projects, commissioning, and operational challenges.
- Develop and implement fixtures and tools to ensure efficient production and adherence to part specifications.
- Conduct manufacturing operation analyses for continuous improvement and cost reduction.
- Collaborate with design engineers to enhance design simplification, cost reduction, quality, and safety.
- Create, update, and maintain manufacturing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Coordinate maintenance and repair services to ensure equipment remains in good and safe working condition.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices, evaluating and recommending new manufacturing processes and equipment to enhance productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to address manufacturing issues, implement process improvements, and introduce new products and technologies.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies while promoting a safe working environment.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and support to other departments.
Skills Required
2-5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.Proficient with Google WorkspaceProficient with SAP (Routing and Production Versions in Material Master Record)Proficient with SolidWorks or other 3D CAD softwareAbility to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings, including ANSI Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerancingKnowledge of AWS and ASME Section IXFamiliarity with manufacturing standard operating proceduresKnowledge of assembly, balancing, machining, and grinding processes (CNC experience is a plus)Ability to analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement, and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiencyEducation
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred.Additional Requirements
